National Drinking Water Advisory Council and Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts Working Group

Elin Warn Betanzo of Safe Water Engineering was appointed to EPA’s National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC) and Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts (MDBP) Working Group in 2022. The recommendations of the Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts (MDBP) working group were transmitted to the NDWAC and on to EPA to inform future revisions to the MDBP regulations. This bold set of recommendations can be used now to set priorities and explore how to improve public health protection in all drinking water utilities nationwide through voluntary and state initiatives.
