Public Notice, Emergencies, and Boil Water Advisories
The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) includes some provisions for advising the public and providing interventions during drinking water emergencies, but these are far from sufficient for meeting the needs of residents experiencing extreme weather events or living with prolonged emergency conditions (e.g., a lead crisis like Benton Harbor or Flint, Michigan). This section presents Safe Water Engineering’s work in this area.
